For many years I was a schoolteacher in Portland who taught English overseas every summer, in China, Russia, and Ukraine. I have traveled to many other countries too over the years, and have become familiar with languages like Bahasa, Mandarin, Russian, and others, although please do not expect me to be fluent in any of them! Estonian and Hungarian are the hardest languages I have tried to learn so far. I enjoy meeting new people and talking about differences in language and culture.
I get up early in the morning, but I can be quiet so that my guests can sleep in. I do ask that my guests return home by midnight and try to be quiet after that time. I can accommodate up to four guests at a time. No smoking, no alcohol, no pets please (although I do not own pets, I do walk the neighbor's dogs every day, and those dogs may sometimes spend the night locked in my kitchen; they do not roam my home). I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to this beautiful part of America! |
