The IIE Summit 2019 is our "soft launch" since we are just getting started. All the cities listed in our Destinations tab have potential hosts already. Hosts in five of these cities are confirmed and are being added to the site now, as they send us photos and details.

Our official launch will be Fall of 2019; we will greatly appreciate your help to promote Host-A-Scholar then, so that your students can take advantage of the opportunity to stay with safe and gracious American hosts, at unbeatable prices, as they explore the United States during their study here.

Below you'll find our social media links and some suggested content you can copy and use right now in your own social media, websites, newsletters, flyers, informational emails, whatever is the most appropriate way to let your international scholars know about the opportunities we provide.

• During IIE Summit 2019: Host-A-Scholar is delighted to celebrate its soft launch here at the IIE Summit 2019 in New York City! We are a short-term homestay network for international students and scholars traveling around the USA. We cater exclusively to visiting faculty who are attending symposia or conferences in the US, and to international students who are studying in the US on a US-sponsored scholarship, either from the university they are attending or the US-government. Our host family network is still in its infancy, but every city listed under "Destinations" on our website represents a candidate host family whom we are actively pursuing. When we get a firm "no" from that candidate family, and we know of no other candidate families in that city, we will delete that city from the "Destinations" page... unless it happens to be a popular destination for many international students. In that case, we will keep looking. And if any of our colleagues at (or affiliated with) the IIE would like to nominate an American host, please do so! (email [email protected]) And please share information about Host-A-Scholar with your incoming class of international students in August of 2019.
